Taipei American School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). WASC is one of six regional accrediting associations in the United States and is the accrediting agency for international schools in East Asia.
YOU’VE COME A LONG WAY: A SCHOOL IN FULL BLOOM
These were the words of Mr. Thomas C. Hudnut, President of the Harvard Westlake School, who served as the Chair of the WASC Committee that visited TAS from March 18-22, 2012. During this visit, Mr. Hudnut and his team of seven experienced international educators met with focus groups and observed over two hundred classes.
On the final day of their visit, the Visiting Committee addressed the TAS community and formally presented its findings, and confirmed what members of the community already knew- "the school puts student achievement as its highest priority" and "is clearly achieving its purpose of pursuing academic excellence." They found that "above all, the faculty's commitment, heart, and evident love and appreciation of their students was seen repeatedly throughout the school and witnessed in the genuine pride in student successes and the selfless giving of time to lend help when needed." As a result, TAS earned the full 6-year accreditation from WASC.
The official WASC Report is now available to the TAS community. Please note that you will be prompted to login to the parent portal of the website.
