Safe Recruiting Practices
Taipei American School is committed to protecting the wellbeing of our students as well as members of this school community. TAS has a robust system in place for conducting pre-employment screening and background checks. As part of our hiring and employment requirements, all employees are required to provide information through a background/criminal record screening and past employment verification prior to their commencement of initial contract at TAS. The scope of the background check includes all locations and countries where the new employee has ever resided for more than 3 months, including but not limited to, his/her passport home country and current residing country. Renewal background checks, currently administered every three years, are also required for all returning employees.

As a community of students, families, faculty, administration, staff, board members, and alumni, Taipei American School will foster a culture of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion that embodies anti-bias action and accountability. We commit ourselves and our peers to live the TAS values and to do the work necessary to maintain an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming environment for all. We will continue to question and challenge our own biases and privileges and use our experiences to empower our community.
