On Friday, May 5, we donned our finest eveningwear for the first time since 2019. We gathered in the luxurious Grand Ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel to support and celebrate our community at the 17th annual Taipei American School Gala Ball.
Hundreds of guests, including alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends, assembled to put the fun into fundraising. All proceeds benefitted the TAS Annual Fund, which supports every aspect of the school’s operations connected to the student experience. This includes academics, athletics, the arts, student life, buildings and grounds, and faculty professional development.
Beginning with the Champagne reception outside the ballroom, guests mingled, sipped bubbly beverages, and admired each other’s outfits. A delicious, multi-course dinner in the ballroom followed. Live and silent auctions on treasures donated by over 80 sponsors and contributors filled the ballroom with suspense and exhilaration. Donated items ranged from a famous bottle of much-sought-after wine to overnight stays in some of the world’s finest hospitality establishments, haute cuisine meals, beautifully crafted fine jewelry, appliances, and more. ADOGA, Taipei’s premier party band, played everyone’s favorite new and classic upbeat tunes to give celebrants a chance to dance off the calories they consumed at dinner.
The evening was a great success, with lots of fun and vital funds raised for the TAS Annual Fund. We would be remiss if we didn’t express our sincere appreciation for the hard work of volunteers that made it all work. We’re eternally grateful for the support of all the contributors and sponsors, without whom this event would not have been possible.
Now that we’re back to holding this as an annual event, we look forward to seeing even more of you there next year.
