The TAS Middle School VEX Robotics team achieved incredible success in the Kentucky World Championships with a run of nine consecutive wins taking them into the elimination rounds with a ranking of 11th. They are the first TAS team to be an alliance team leader and they also won the "Community Award" given for team members mentoring, instructing, and promoting all students, as well as empowering girls in robotics. Only one award is given, and there were 94 teams at the world championships this year out of over 600 who vied for the opportunity.
After a first-up victory in the elimination rounds to secure a spot in the quarterfinals, the TAS team team finished the tournament in 7th place; the team they lost to in the quarterfinals went on the win the tournament as world champions. This is an incredible result due to the countless hours TAS students and coaches put in preparing for this tournament. Congratulations to everyone involved.
