Bio: Ms. Charlotte Ackert
The three years that Charlotte, her husband David, and son Nick spent at TAS were the most transformative years in their family life. At TAS, Nick enjoyed its academic rigor and honed his critical thinking skills through extended intellectual discourse with his teachers. He thrived in the plenitude of extracurricular opportunities; MUN and forensics and debate imbued him with an urge to serve the global community. His life is enriched by lifelong friendships forged at TAS.
Charlotte and David’s lives were also deeply touched by the friendships they enjoyed in Taiwan where Charlotte was born and lived until she was 11. She moved with her family to Tokyo and then Connecticut. With a B.A. in Economics from Harvard and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Charlotte worked as an investment banker in corporate finance and in cross border transactions between PRC and U.S. companies. She retired from Lehman Brothers, New York as a Senior Vice President in Corporate Finance to focus on her family and volunteer work for non-profit organizations.
Charlotte strongly believes that education should cultivate a love for learning, nurture creativity and independent thinking, and foster global citizenship. She hopes to bring this passion to her service on the TAS Board of Directors.
