Bio: Ms. Vera Wu
Vera moved to Taipei, Taiwan at the age of 16 from Wilmington, Delaware. Vera joined Taipei American School her junior year and is a proud member of the graduating class of 1987. Upon graduating from TAS, Vera returned to the states where she received her Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from University of Delaware and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Vera spent 20-plus years working in healthcare, first as a consultant at PwC/IBM advising c-suite leaders in their growth strategies. After growing tired of the travel, Vera moved into industry working in her last role as a senior leader at Pfizer having responsibility for over $3B in sales in US Market.
In 2016, Vera along with her husband Harry Spiegle moved back to Taipei. Vera and Harry have two children at TAS, their 6th grade daughter Kyra and 4th grade son Mark. Vera is an active member of the TAS PTA serving as the Farmer’s Market Booth Chair for the both the International Food Fair and Spring Fair.
Since returning to Taiwan, Vera has started to advise local Taiwanese biotech companies in their business development activities. Vera is also a member of the TSMC and Yong Lin Foundation focused on advancing senior care services and helping under privileged college students
Vera is honored to be on the Board of an institution that has been so important in her own personal and professional development. She looks to bring her professional experience in strategy and managing large operational P&Ls to the TAS Board and Administration.
