Bio: Dr. Juliana Finucane
Juliana Finucane is Visa Chief in the Consular Section at the American Institute in Taiwan. She is a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State who previously served in the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India, and the U.S. Consulate General in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
A native of Washington, D.C., Dr. Finucane holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University and Master of Arts degrees in Religion and Journalism from Syracuse University. She earned her Ph.D. in Religion from Syracuse University in 2009, where her specialization was religion and globalization. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Dr. Finucane taught and did research in religion and anthropology at Syracuse University, Wells College, and National University of Singapore. Dr. Finucane and her family have lived in Taipei since August 2018. She looks forward to working with the other board members to serve the TAS community in a shared commitment to equality, transparency, and good governance.
