Middle School Curriculum Posts

In Grade 6, students get introduced to the history of the Americas, starting with the early societies of various Native American groups and ending with the American Revolutionary War. The units of study focus on building skills that help students communicate their ideas both verbally and in writing and make connnections between different time periods. In addition to historical content, students will work on non-fiction reading skills, argumentative writing, independent research, and reading primary sources. With a focus on inquiry and asking questions, students will walk away from the course with the foundational skills needed for thinking like a historian.
