Middle School Curriculum Posts

In Grade 6 Robotics, students are introduced to robotics and engineering through hands-on design challenges using VEX IQ components. Students explore mechanism design, structures, movement, sensors, and foundational coding concepts while learning how robots interact with their environment. Through building, testing, and refining projects such as amusement park rides, autonomous robots, and competition-based challenges, students develop problem-solving skills, systems-based thinking, resilience, and collaboration. The course is designed to support students with little or no prior experience while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and confidence through iterative design and experimentation.
