Middle School Curriculum Posts

 This semester-long painting course invites students to engage in experimental and traditional approaches, redefining one of the oldest creative mediums in modern contemporary practice. The curriculum spans three distinct units: exploring traditional painting mediums (oil, acrylic, ink, lacquer), expanding into 3D digital environments using 360° VR headsets, and experimenting with tactile textile mediums like tufting and wool felting. Throughout the semester, students will work individually and collaboratively to master techniques, research contemporary artists, and complete self-directed independent projects in each unit to develop their unique artistic voice.
