Learn more about this Grade 8 elective

Grade 8 Robotics is an opportunity to further develop an understanding of mechanical design and develop coding ability in text-based programming based on C++.  It is designed to further extend skills developed in Grade 7 robotics, though can be adjusted to accommodate entry level ability. Students engage in the Process of Design to fabricate interactive robotics using aluminum and VEX edr components.  Robots are built according to design specifications that are generated as a solution to a problem.  Students code a robot to interact and manipulate game objects. Inherent in all robotic courses at TAS is the incorporation of the design process and students who complete this course will be well placed to succeed in robotic and computer programming courses offered in Upper School.
