Middle School Curriculum Posts

This course provides students with an introduction to electronics, coding, digital fabrication and tool use. Students start the semester with a series of mini-units designed to teach them how to code in C++, along with the basics of electronics. These units also cover basic hand tool fabrication skills and the use of Adobe Illustrator for laser cutting. Design opportunities take on an entirely new direction with the use of Arduino microcontrollers, sensors and LEDs as we move into the second half of the course. Students take on their own project that integrates all the skills practiced thus far.  Students that sign up for this course should be interested in a wide range of experiences from electronics, designing, building, and basic coding.
