Music Mix is a music technology class that provides Grade 7 and 8 students opportunities in creating and producing music. Students explore the elements of music: melody, rhythm, harmony, form, timbre and expression, and learn how to manipulate these elements to create their own music. Students produce music using a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) and develop technical skills recording, mixing and engineering their music. Students also study music theory concepts, listening and topics that impact today’s music and society. Instruction is differentiated to allow students a wide range of opportunities that are relevant to their musical experience.  Class activities include, but are not limited to, devising original music compositions, remixes, commercials, podcasts, as well as music for film, animations and video games.
