Leaving TAS

If a family is considering transferring out of TAS for any reason, parents should first contact their child's counselor. Often, families need recommendations from administration / counselor, 2 teacher recommendations, grade and attendance reports to help transfer schools. This process can vary from school to school, so a few steps are important.

First, the student should meet with their counselor about the process. The counselor and student will discuss how to ask teachers and when, what forms we will need to help, and how to make sure to verbally thank or write to their teachers when they are all done with their process.

Next, the student and parent/ guardian will navigate back to this site to complete two forms. The first is our permission form, indicating which schools and teacher recommendations you will need. The second is our student autobiographical worksheet, which shares pertinent information about themselves with the teachers for recommendations writing. Those can be found in the links below.

​Once families have confirmed their child’s withdrawal, parents should submit the official withdrawal notification by going to PowerSchool. After going to PowerSchool Parent Portal, scroll down to  'Withdrawal' on the left side of the Parent page. Withdrawal can happen at any time during the year with families choosing their withdrawal date. Questions may be directed to the Middle School counseling office at extension 234.

Families may download student reports from PowerSchool anytime. However, all recommendations and official grade reports/transcripts will be sent by the Middle School counseling office directly to the schools to which the student is applying or attending.

Alumni Report Procedures

Alumni can often need documentation from TAS after withdrawal or transfer. The two most frequently requested documents are: 

• Historical Enrollment Certificate
• Historical Grade Report

If you are a former TAS student who left TAS while in Middle School are in need of historical reports, please contact TAS @ msco_rec@tas.edu.tw.
