Enrichment Options for Tiger Families

Taipei American School provides a number of options for students and their families to extend their learning beyond the traditional school classroom hours.

We partner with internal programs and outside organizations to help support your Tiger's learning, personal well-being, and service goals.

Taipei Youth Program Association (TYPA)

Taipei Youth Program Association has been providing quality recreational experiences to the international youth of Taipei for over 40 years. The TYPA office and most TYPA activities are located on the TAS campus.

About TYPA

TYPA is a separate entity but is the predominant choice of after school activities for TAS students. As TAS students finish off their school day, they will be able to participate in a wide range of TYPA activities each day of the week.

WHAT THEY OFFER

With a staff of 110 professional instructors serving over 1,600 members every week, the TYPA activities are dynamic and diverse. These include technology (robotics, coding, 3-D Design), sports (soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball, volleyball, rugby, track and field, inline skating), music (piano, violin, cello, flute, guitar, vocal), martial arts (karate, taekwondo, aikido, ninja), dance (hip hop, ballet, jazz, tap, cheerleading), gymnastics, art, drama, public speaking, chess, scouts, summer camps, film academy, tech camp, pre-school activities, and much more.

How to Register

In order to participate in any TYPA activities, their family must first become a TYPA member. You may visit the TYPA office during our opening hours (Mon-Fri 9:00-4:30pm or Sat 9:00-3:00pm), or you may send in a completed “Master Registration Form”, “Medical History Form”, as well as a copy of your children’s passport to reg@typa.org.tw. IMPORTANT DATES

TYPA has two main registration periods. The Fall Registration Period typically takes place in May and the Spring Registration Period in November/December. There is also a special registration period for our summer camps which will usually take place in March. TYPA will send out weekly emails to remind their members of upcoming events and deadlines so please be sure to check that.
