On Gratitude and Giving

On Gratitude and Giving

By Caroline Baugh, Chief Advancement & External Relations Officer

As the holiday season approaches, I am always reminded of the importance of gratitude and giving. It's a time when we gather with loved ones, share our appreciation, and give back to causes that we care about. For schools, gratitude and giving is not just a seasonal sentiment but a year-round value, one that TAS aims to embody and instill in our students.
Why Gratitude Matters

Gratitude matters deeply in a school setting because it helps bring the community closer, especially in a place like TAS, which is home to students, families, and teachers from all over the world, with different backgrounds and cultures. Gratitude reminds us to appreciate and celebrate these differences, making our school a more inclusive and welcoming place where everyone belongs.

Why Giving Matters
Philanthropy plays a vital role within the heart of a school community that goes far beyond financial contributions. At TAS, giving represents our collective commitment to the growth, well-being, and excellence of our school. As we work to reinvigorate our Annual Giving program this year, I hope you will join me in supporting the extra initiatives that help us deliver an excellent TAS education to every student.

Every Contribution Counts
One of the beautiful aspects of philanthropy is that every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact at TAS. Whether symbolic or substantial, each gift represents another family who is committed to supporting our school. What matters most is the collective effort to support the TAS community and create an environment that fosters our people, programs, and places.

The Impact of Giving
The impact of philanthropy is very evident at TAS. From buildings such as the Tech Cube, and the Lower School Playground, to supporting initiatives such as MUN, debate, robotics, theater, dance, music, arts, short-term tuition support for families experiencing financial difficulty, and helping provide robust professional development opportunities for our faculty.

Grateful for our Donors
We are happy to share the Annual Report for 2022-23. We are grateful to our entire community for all the ways that they support TAS – whether it be through their volunteer hours, sharing their feedback, or sharing their resources by donating to the Annual Giving Program.

We have much to be grateful for this year. I am grateful to the TAS community for welcoming me this year, and I wish you and your families a wonderful holiday.
