Always a Tiger Continues to Strengthen TAS Alumni Connections Around the World

Always a Tiger Continues to Strengthen TAS Alumni Connections Around the World

No matter how many years pass, how far alumni travel, or how different their paths become, there is often a familiar feeling when TAS Tigers gather again – stories pick up where they left off, teachers are remembered by name, and connections formed on campus quickly return.

That spirit continues to shape the Always a Tiger Tour, an ongoing alumni initiative that brings together alumni, former parents, and former faculty in cities around the world. Organized through the TAS Alumni Office, the gatherings create opportunities for the community to reconnect, reflect on shared experiences, and stay engaged with the continuing story of Taipei American School.

Originally launched during TAS’s 75th anniversary celebrations, the tour has continued to grow across multiple regions, with stops spanning the United States, Europe, and Asia. Previous gatherings have taken place in cities including Chicago, Boston, Washington D.C., New York City, Dallas, Austin, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Tokyo, Seattle, Toronto, and Taipei.

Rather than formal presentations, the gatherings are designed around conversation and reconnection. Alumni from different graduating classes and decades come together to share memories, exchange updates about their lives and careers, and reconnect through the common experience of TAS. School leaders also provide updates about current initiatives, campus developments, and the evolving direction of the school community.

The tour also reflects the increasingly global nature of the TAS alumni network. Today, the community includes more than 10,000 alumni, and former faculty members living and working around the world. Many remain actively connected to the school through alumni events, campus visits, mentoring, and community engagement long after graduation.

The Taipei stop on May 7 at Amba Taipei Songshan Hotel marked the end of the school year’s tour. It served as a wonderful finale to the tradition of bringing Tigers together both within our local community and across the globe.

At its heart, the Always a Tiger Tour is less about geography and more about continuity – a reminder that while alumni may leave Taipei American School, the relationships, memories, and sense of belonging built here continue to travel with them.

Once a Tiger, always a Tiger.
