Celebrating Community: Highlights from the 2024 TAS Fall Fair
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the 2024 TAS Fall Fair! Thanks to the hard work of our PTA and the dedication of over 300 volunteers, the Fall Fair truly brought the TAS spirit to life, creating a fantastic day for all who attended.
When the gates opened at 10:00 AM, the campus buzzed with excitement as delicious food, engaging activities, and vibrant performances set the stage for a celebration of community.
A Feast for the Senses
Food enthusiasts delighted in a curated culinary experience with a variety of offerings from PTA booths and over 100 vendors. PTA booths near the entrance showcased signature items such as Blue & Gold soft-serve ice cream, freshly baked goods, and cotton candy, while the Farmer’s Market and Giving Thanks Alumni Booth highlighted seasonal favorites.
Nine PTA country booths—representing Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, New Zealand, USA, Vietnam, Thailand, India, and Taiwan—brought international flavors to life. From New Zealand’s grilled lamb chops to Taiwan’s braised pork rice, the diversity of food offerings reflected the cultural richness of the TAS community.
Games, Activities, and Interactive Fun
The fair offered a dynamic array of activities for all ages. Younger children enjoyed inflatable castles, arts and crafts, and face painting, while older attendees tested their skills at games like soccer kicks and ring toss. The Haunted House in the MPR drew adventurous visitors, while the Taipei Police Department engaged attendees with a police car tour, enhancing community safety and fostering connections.
The Lifestyle Zone in the Legacy Commons was a hub for creativity and relaxation, featuring pottery-making, science experiments, and golf swing practice. Parents enjoyed the chance to browse unique vendor offerings, sip coffee, and connect with the community in a welcoming space.
Double Stages, Endless Talent
Performances on two stages—the front lobby and parking lot—showcased the incredible talents of TAS students. Highlights included TAS Choirs, Jazz Ensemble, Orchestra, and dance performances by Grade 7 and 8 students as well as Upper School students. Each act brought joy to the crowd, reflecting the dedication and energy of the TAS community.
Community Connections
The fair highlighted TAS’s connections within and beyond the school. Local neighborhood schools, including Tien Mu Elementary School and Shih Tong Elementary School, joined the festivities. Organizations such as the Taipei Police Department, TYPA, Scouts of America, and USA Girl Scouts added to the inclusive and collaborative atmosphere.
A Day to Remember
The 2024 TAS Fall Fair was more than just a school event—it was a celebration of our shared values and community spirit. With smiles on faces and cherished memories made, the event left attendees with a renewed appreciation for the vibrant community surrounding TAS.
