Learning, Growth, and Adventure at Middle School Camp

Taipei American School Middle School students and faculty recently embarked on their annual camp experience, exploring some of Taiwan's most scenic locations. Each grade level journeyed to a unique destination, engaging in activities that promote exploration, teamwork, and personal growth.

Grade 6 traveled to the southeastern coast in Kenting. Nestled at Taiwan's southern tip, this camp featured traditional Minnan-style buildings set against a backdrop of blue skies and rocky coastlines. Grade 6 Tigers visited the aquarium and participated in beach excursions, kite-flying, art, and team-building activities that helped them build new friendships and push themselves out of their comfort zones.

Grade 7 held their camp in a picturesque spot near Tainan. The camp experience offered cycling, archery, swimming, farm games, and making crafts. Students also enjoyed evening group activities such as creating and playing Carnival games that encouraged peer bonding and collaboration.

Grade 8 took a shorter trip to the northeast coast, staying near Fulong. Here, students participated in kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, rock climbing, snorkeling and hiking. These activities were tailored to foster interpersonal skills and independence while strengthening relationships with classmates and teachers.

Each camp experience was designed with care, combining outdoor education with fun. Whether enjoying meals together outdoors, tackling ropes courses, or participating in arts and crafts, students rotated through various activities, each aimed at fostering their growth in different areas.

Informational webinars were held to keep parents and guardians informed in preparation for the camps. Safety was a top priority, and the sessions provided valuable insights and helped families prepare their children for the journey ahead. After camp, parents enjoyed photo albums of their children’s activities to relive the wonderful memories!

As in previous years, Middle School Camp was an unforgettable experience for all, creating lasting memories and deepening connections within the TAS Middle School community.
