TAS Expands the Employee Wellness Program for SY24-25
At TAS, well-being extends beyond students to encompass the dedicated faculty and staff who form the heart of the school's vibrant community. The launch of the Employee Wellness Program for the 2024-2025 school year underscores TAS's commitment to fostering both personal and professional growth. Designed to enhance physical and mental health while promoting a sense of community, the program offers a wide variety of activities focused on self-care, connection, and learning.
Recognizing that a balanced life is essential for success, the Human Resources Department has crafted an array of offerings to suit diverse interests and needs. The program features classes like Zumba, Yoga, Survival Mandarin, Writing Workshops, and Meditation Circles. Internal and external instructors, including FunFun Yu, Abby Tsai, Jessica Lee, Jerry Chen, and current faculty member brenda lin and Clarabelle Lin, lead these sessions, enriching the program with their unique perspectives and expertise.
Beyond the offerings in the Employee Wellness Program, the School also includes Pickleball sessions, Faculty and Staff Swim hours, and access to the Tiger Wellness Center during weekdays and weekends. These activities provide additional opportunities for employees to invest in their well-being through physical movement and relaxation.
In addition to the wellness sessions, employees can participate in monthly school-arranged Costco Bus trips and a range of family-oriented events organized by the KA-12 Sunshine Committee. Events such as the Ray of Sunshine Happy Hour, hosted at Eddy's Cantina on select Fridays, invite colleagues to mix and mingle in a casual setting. The Shilin Night Market Scavenger Hunt and Family Bike Trip to Caoling-Fulong further encourage community bonding and promote an active, healthy lifestyle while getting to know the local culture.
TAS's approach to well-being is deeply rooted in its mission, which emphasizes lifelong learning, personal well-being, and service to the community. The Wellness Program and other initiatives embodies these values by providing employees with tools and chances to cultivate self-awareness, self-management, and resilience. Just as students are taught to understand the importance of social, physical, mental, and emotional balance, employees are encouraged to integrate these elements into their own lives. The program aims to create a workplace culture where everyone feels supported and valued.
Guided by the Well-being Committee's Vision Statement, the initiative reflects the school's belief that well-being is inextricably linked to success. Employees are not just contributors to TAS's achievements but individuals whose health and happiness directly impact their professional growth. By offering a range of wellness opportunities, TAS fosters a thriving community where each individual’s well-being is prioritized.
With activities scheduled throughout the school year, from September 2024 to May 2025, employees can explore their preferred wellness practices at their convenience. Whether it's moving to the rhythm of Zumba, enjoying a swim, exploring mindfulness in meditation, or taking part in a community event, the school looks forward to celebrating the joy of movement, the power of connection, and the strength of shared well-being.
We hope all employees take the opportunity to explore the diverse offerings available and find activities that resonate with their personal wellness goals. There’s truly something for everyone to invest in their own well-being!
