TAS Welcomes 27 New Students in Semester 2 of the 2025–26 School Year

TAS Welcomes 27 New Students in Semester 2 of the 2025–26 School Year

On Monday, January 5, Taipei American School welcomed the families of 27 new students to the Semester 2 New Family Orientation.

At TAS, we’re committed to a mission-aligned Admissions process, from a family’s first questions about our school, to their child’s first day on campus. At New Family Orientation, this means we’re focused on helping students and parents feel prepared, excited, and supported as they officially begin their TAS journey.

Joining TAS from schools both in Taiwan and abroad, the newest members of our Tiger family were greeted by student ambassadors and administrators alike in welcome sessions hosted by each division. By taking the time to connect, our students and administrators alike are planting the seeds of connection. It’s important to us that all of our new students have a positive peer relationship from their very first day on campus and recognize their divisional administrators as friendly faces that they can trust.

From there, opportunities to connect with counselors and classroom teachers occupied the new students’ time, while their parents learned more about the rhythms of school life, and what to expect over the next semester.

“New Family Orientation is an important touchstone in every family’s TAS journey,” comments Michael O'Neill, Director of Admissions. “We do our best to make this big, vibrant community feel instantly accessible, so that new students and parents alike understand that they belong from day one.

Families reunited in the Legacy Commons for the New Family School Fair, where they met with representatives from key school services like Security, IT, and Transportation, and connected with teams like Communications, TYPA, and the PTA, on the many ways to enhance their Tiger experience.

With their IDs printed, PowerSchool credentials complete, and a rundown of the activities, offerings, and opportunities available in our community, our new families left campus ready to start the semester strong!
