Enhancing Opportunities through Giving
Generous contributions from our community play a pivotal role in enhancing the breadth of our educational offering. Gifts to the school support our people, programs, and places. While some aspects are visibly present, such as the Tech Cube, playgrounds, and classrooms, gifts also bolster various initiatives like speech and debate, the music program, Model United Nations, athletics, visiting speakers and artists, science, and language programs. Nearly every student has felt the positive impact of our donors' generosity through gifts to our Annual Giving program.
The TAS Annual Giving Program Initiatives
Taipei American School relies on gifts to the Annual Giving Program to fund initiatives for our students that would otherwise not be possible. Read below to see different ways you can support TAS.
Program Excellence
Supports and helps start additional curricular needs in programs such as Debate, Robotics, Theater Arts, Scientific Research, Film Studies, Music, Visual Arts, Athletics, MUN, Mandarin and Character Education programs.
General Fund
Supports the most urgent needs of the school. This helps bolster essential components throughout the year that might not be covered by the budget. A last minute opportunity for a speaker, technology upgrades, or even necessary supplies - the General Fund funds typically support a wide range of critical areas.
Building Excellence
Supports the construction, renovation, or enhancement of many campus facilities, including the lower school playground, the Tech Cube, the golf center, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, the Tiger Health and Wellness Center, the Guy Lott Jr. Auditorium and the Kevin B. Held Black Box Theater.
Professional Excellence
Supports professional development for faculty at regional and international workshops and conferences. This funds enables teachers to stay updated with the latest pedagogical trends, technology advancements, and best practices in education. Ultimately, this support ensures that educators remain at the forefront of their field, promoting not only their personal growth but also the academic success and well-being of the TAS students they serve.
Quasi Endowment
Helps assure long-term financial stability for the School. It ensures that future generations of TAS students enjoy excellence in education. It also serves as an emergency reserve.
Hope N.F. Phillips Scholarship Fund
Provides temporary tuition support to families experiencing financial difficulties, allowing students who would otherwise have to leave the School because of financial hardship to continue their education at TAS.
