A Final Message from Ms. Cormier: Reflecting on the 2025–26 School Year

Dear Parents- 

Today at our end-of-the-year assembly, I shared with the Middle School students some final thoughts about the school year. You can see what I shared below.

It’s hard to believe this is the last day of school. It feels like just yesterday we were all getting back into the routine of “school” - figuring out schedules, finding classrooms, and trying to remember locker combinations.  

If you think about our yearbook theme, “Level Up!”, we were all starting a new game. Some of you came in with more experience points; more years at TAS, more time in middle school. But, no matter where you started, everyone entered this level ready to take on the challenge. And for many of you, the “world” changed - whether that meant moving from LS to MS, or adjusting to a completely new schedule. 

And now, here we are—at the end of Level 2526. 

At this point in the year, your energy might feel low. Your power level might not feel quite as high as it did back in August. But don’t forget everything you’ve learned on this journey. You’ve taken on challenges - tests, projects, performances, friendships, setbacks - and you’ve made it through! 

There were moments when things felt hard. Maybe even really hard. But growth doesn’t happen on easy levels. It happens when you keep going, when you try again, when you figure things out - even when it’s frustrating. You all did that this year. And you didn’t do it alone. Think about the teammates who helped you along the way—your friends, your teachers, and your families. 

Now, I know many of you are feeling excited because summer is here. That means freedom, travel, time with family and friends, maybe sleeping in a little more than usual. You’ll get to explore new “worlds,” take a break, and recharge before coming back for Level 2627. 

For some of you, though, today also comes with a bit of sadness because you are saying goodbye to friends and to a place that feels familiar. However, the great thing about modern technology today is that although you might be separated by an ocean or thousands of miles, our digital world allows you to stay in touch. Keep those connections going – they matter. 

Before logging off of “level 2526” and heading into break, I want to leave you with one challenge for this summer: take on a few extra quests. Try something new. Learn something for fun. Spend time doing things that make you happy. Take care of yourself and come back recharged.
