MUN & Debate Travel Team Opportunities – Grades 7 & 8

Applications for our MUN and Debate international travel teams will open on Wednesday, October 7, and close on Monday, October 19.

MUN Travel Teams

Middle school MUN delegates will have opportunities to participate in two international conferences this year, in addition to our own TASMUN conference.

• Grade 7: MY-MUNOFS in Singapore
• Grade 8: MY-MUNOFS in Singapore and GECMUN on Jeju Island, South Korea

Students selected for an international travel team will participate in MUN during Seasons 2 & 3. Grade 7 and Grade 8 students attending MY-MUNOFS will practice separately.

Previous MUN experience is not required.

Information about participating in TASMUN during Seasons 3 & 4 will be shared later this semester.

Debate Travel Team

Due to the nature of international tournaments, the number of students we can accept for the Debate travel team will be limited to no more than 16 students. The international travel team will be selected from students who apply and can make a commitment to Debate Club during Seasons 2 & 3.

The application will include signed consent from a parent and an audition application, and will take into consideration students’ previous commitments to Debate and their academic standing.

The trip will conflict with the second half of Lunar New Year vacation. More details about the trip will be finalized in October, including the location and cost.

Students should keep their eyes on the morning announcements starting on Wednesday, October 7, for information about where to find the respective applications and who to contact should they have any questions. Applications must be submitted in full on or before Monday, October 19.
