REMINDER: College Counseling: Upcoming Events, Important Dates & Resources for Grades 9–12

There’s a lot happening in College Counseling this fall! Families in Grades 9-12 are invited to explore upcoming events, important dates, and resources to help students and families navigate the college process.

 

A few dates to have on your radar:

6th Annual CAT University Fair for Grade 11 and 12 students and families

Grade 12 families should also watch for an upcoming required College Counseling webinar and review the Fall semester calendar with their child.

Grade 9-12 Families:

• Tip: Subscribe to the TAS digital calendar for the most up-to-date schedule of university visits taking place at TAS throughout the year. There are new visits being added throughout the Fall, so check back often! These visits typically take place during student Flex or lunch periods. Selective US Admissions Case Study Program

Are you curious to know how admission officers at selective universities in the United States read applications and make admission decisions? Join us in the auditorium for an interactive application case study session led by an experienced admissions officer who has visited TAS for the past decade and reads TAS applications! Students and parents/guardians in Grades 9-12 are welcome to join this informative and fun event.

Grade 12 Families:

• Reminder - Upcoming Webinar & Calendar: In early September, please note you will be sent a link to a required recorded webinar led by the college counseling team to view with your child. This webinar will provide an overview of the nuts & bolts of the application process and how we will work together this year. During our first college counseling class yesterday with students, we shared a Fall semester calendar with important deadlines and key dates. This calendar can also be found in the Parent Zone, will be emailed to families, and will be discussed in the upcoming webinar. Please review this calendar together as a family!
• MaiaLearning Access: Every Grade 12 family was granted access to our College Counseling platform, MaiaLearning, last semester. If you have not logged into your account or you cannot access the platform, please have your child contact their college counselor.

6th Annual CAT University Fair

This year, Kaohsiung American School will be hosting 120+ universities from around the world at Taiwan’s largest annual college fair. Grade 12 and 11 TAS students are highly encouraged to attend. Please note this is a ticketed event. Tickets are first-come, first-served to students. One ticket allows students to bring a maximum of one parent/guardian. Ticket information was sent to students last week, so please talk to your child to see if they have secured a ticket. To see the list of attending universities, check here.
